The poem, “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me” is more relatable to me. The poem, “Choosing Shoes” I can’t relate to as well. I can relate to “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me” because someone is telling another person they can’t be frightened by life. I can make a connection to this because every night I used to tell my mom I was afraid something bad was going to happen. She told me that you can’t go through life worrying about things that you can’t control. I can’t control what is going to happen to me in the next six-teen years. I thought about what she said all night and I kept thinking and thinking. The next morning I knew she was right because you can’t enjoy life when you are worried. I choose the poem, “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me”.

"Choosing Shoes" is about a person who is choosing shoes and is saying there is alot to choose from. "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" is about a guy who names all the things some of us think is scary to most people but is not for this guy. The winner is "Choosing Shoes" because I know how hard it is to coose shoes.

Dear Ms. Sikes,

I choose "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" because I like how it tells some scary things. I also like it because it is funny how some of the things I am not scared of are in it.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
The poem I chose was "Life Dosen't Frighten Me". I choose this poem because I think it sets a good example to the kids who read the poem. The example it sets to me is that if one of your friends is following the crowd, but you want to follow them, but you need to follow your heart not the crowd

"Choosing Shoes" is my favorite because I am a girl and I don't like shoes, I LOVE shoes!! My personal connection to this poem is when I go to Nordstrom [shoe heaven] I want so many pairs, but either my mom doesn't like them, they are to expensive, or I'm getting enough! The poet's craft I like in this poem is the rhyming because I've always LOVED rhyming words (and shoes!).

I chose "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" because of the way it rhymes and the way it is worded. I like the way it rhymes because it is exact rhymes. For example, "park" and "dark". I like the way it is worded or word choice because it makes the poem scarier. For example, "mean old mother goose" and "lions on the loose".

Dear Ms.Sikes,
I think "Choosing Shoes" should move on because I relate to it more.
Reason 1: I'm scared of A LOT of things.
Reason 2: I have so much trouble choosing shoes because there are so many to choose from.
Reason 3: I love the rhyming of verbs that explain the shoes.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
I chose "Choosing Shoes" because I really like the word choice and the rhyming. It makes sense, not like some random words that rhyme. I read poems that are like that. Thats why I like this one.

I liked "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" because It means a lot to me because how it says that if you act like your not scared then the person who is trying to scare you is scared. I also like the way they say the poem. I don't have a deep connection but I think I saw a movie that had something to do with the "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" concept.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
“Life Doesn’t Frighten Me” means more to me because it is an example of life.
I also have a connection to the story it is life sometimes frightens half to death.
I think the writer did a better job because he did 2 pages instead of 1.

I like "Choosing Shoes" because it's fun. It's doesn't have a very serious meaning. I can make a connection. Once I was shoping for shoes and there were so many options. I had to pick one though. I chose "Choosing Shoes" because I like how it repeats its self, but with a differnt type of shoe.

My favorite poem is "Choosing Shoes" because I like the way it makes up its own sort of shoes like "wipe them on the mat shoes" it is really good about describing the shoes, and it also asks a question or two for the reader to answer.

I chose "Choosing Shoes" because I personally like choosing shoes from a shoe store. I like how the poem rhymes, and all of the different types of shoes. The ajectives describing the shoes rhyme in each line. I can make a connection to that because when I go to a shoe store I see so many choices of shoes. I want "Choosing Shoes" to win.

Ms. Sikes,
Between "choosing shoes" & "life doesn't frighten me" after reading them each for the second time I choose "life doesn't frighten me" I choose this poem because I did get frightened easily when I was very small and sometimes jump because of my own shadow......:)
I like the poem also because it shows how confident someone can be and want people to know LIFE DOSEN'T scare him or her at all!

Dear Ms. Sikes,

The meaning of "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" is more important to me because I like to think that I'm brave also. I connect with this poem because sometimes I tell myself that I'm not frightened when I actually really am. I like the rhyming that the poet did in "Life Doesn't Frighten Me".
