I'm voting for the poem "Do You Carrot all For Me'" because...
POET'S CRAFT: It had great word choice, word play, punctuation, and capitalization. It didn't have rhyme scheme or cspitlization in the title.
ORIGINAL THOUGHT: Do You Carrot all For Me was very interesting, cute, entertaining, and well thought out. If was kind of boring to me. If this wins I can't wait to see it in he finals!!!!!

I vote for “Do you carrot all for me?’’ because of the way it uses vegetables and fruits for words in the poem. “Do you carrot all for me?” is one of those poems that are fun to say and funny to read like “Choosing Shoes”. “Do you carrot all for me?” is like a love letter with fruit and vegetables.

I chose the poem “If~” because, it has the best rhyme scheme (fool, tool or touch, much etc.) The line breaks and punctuation is really well done too.
I also love how it almost tells a story of all the things that you can do to be a person of integrity. This poem reminds me of God or Jesus talking to people about being kind to each other. I would choose this poem over anything.

I vote for “Do you carrot all for me?” because…
This poem has good poet’s craft, but I wish it rhymed. The poem has a lot of punctuation and awesome word choice.
The word choice is my favorite part of the poem. I love how the author put in vegetable/fruit words for the poem. I can infer that a vegetable couple is talking to each other. I really like how this is a fun, crazy poem!

My favorite poem is,"If", because I love the meaning, even though sometimes it is all about you. try and make it about every one.

I vote for "Do you Carrot all for me" because

ORGINIAL THOUGHT: I think this is a really clever idea. I would of never thought of this idea if i was writing a love poem. This poem stuck out to me when i first read it. It is my favorite out of all the poems.

WRITERS CRAFT: I like how the writer put a twist to it. He added in vegetables and fruits for words. You can all ready tell by the title that it would be like that.

I am voting for "If-" because it makes me think of my dad talking to me. I think that some people do not understand "If-", but if you take the time to actually read it and think about it you will soon understand that it is a poem where the father is talking to the son about ways that he can grow up to be a good man. I think that this poem has a very important meaning.

The poem I chose was If~ because...

POET'S CRAFT: The rhyming goes well with the line breaks. The line breaks are not too long and the rhyming actually makes sense.

ORIGINAL THOUGHT: When I read the poem it kind've makes me this of the Lord.

I choose the poem "If~" because...

POET'S CRAFT: I think this poem is great in it's poet's craft because of the line breaks and rhyme scheme. Line breaks, I like this because it make the poem easy to understand. It breaks in a way at thie end of a sentence but they aren't a sentence. Rhyme scheme, I like this because it has an "A,B" ryhming line.

ORINGAL THOUGHT: I like the meaning in this poem because it's about how to honor GOD, how to be the perfect man,and how to love your neighbor as yourself. I think this poem is from God's stand point.

I chose the poem “Do you Carrot all for me?” because of the way that the poet described the love one in a way that the words are fruits and vegetables. I think that this poem has a lot of personality because of the different thinking and ideas!

I choose " Do you carrot all for me?" because I like the way the auther uses food to describe the fellings of love.

A connection I made is to the Hunger Games when Katniss falls in love with Peeta the baker and how I imagine Peeta shows his love for katniss through food.

Do You Carrot All For Me?
I picked Do You Carrot All For Me because I liked how it was funny, and one of the sentences I really liked was “We will make a swell pear”. It also was very funny, but I think they could add a little rhyme in it or make it a sentence longer. I love how they put foods for the words in the poem like “My heart beets for you” and that is why I picked Do You Carrot All

I vote for "The Falling Star" because it tells you the setting that you can imagine. The poet's craft in this poem is rhyme scheme. My original tought is that The Falling Star is a rhyming poem that you can visualize how the star is falling.

I choose the Falling Star and incourage others to because it is a " JUST RIGHT POEM,"and I felt like Do you carrot all for me wasn't just right for me. I thought it had great word choice.

I think the Falling Star had really good rhymes, that it was very descriptive, and I could visulize the poem really well.

I Choose The Falling Star because..

The rhyme was really good and the line break if you could make a rhyme it was there. It reminds me of my lake and all the stars.

GS said...

I like the Falling Star better because it describes the star so well. I like how she didn't say it is a shooting star. Instead she said the falling star so you can infer that it is a shooting star. The poem also rhymes the last word on every line. The last word on the first line rhymes with the last word on the second line ect. Do you carrot all for me doesn't rhyme. That is why I like The Falling Star better.

I choose "The Falling Star" because it gives a meaningful discription of the star and it has great rhyming.

I chose it because it is something most people have seen and it makes you relate to it.

I like this one the most of all of them.

I vote for “Do you carrot all for me” because...

ORIGNAL THOUGHT: I visualize a man writing a love letter to a women and I think he is writing in foods because he wants to make a hard subject be easier for him and his “fiancĂ©” so it is not so embarrassing for them both.

POET’S CRAFT: I like how the poet puts each line as a sentence and I love the part when it says “If we cantaloupe lettuce marry.” I also like how the poet uses at least one fruit or vegetable per line.

Out of these two poems, I have to choose “The Falling Star” as my favorite.
I chose this because I like the rhyme scheme “The Falling Star” has, the good description, and I enjoy the last two lines because they are mischievous and suspicious to me.
The reason why I didn’t choose, “Do You Carrot All For Me” is because it was a little hard to understand and it wasn’t very clear, but I did like the creativity and how the author made you think a little.

I choose "The Falling Star" because....
This is a very soothing poem. It is very relaxing when you read it. This poem makes me personally soothed and relaxed. I can visualize this on a summer night. A beautiful star rushing through the sky on a warm night.

I like how the poet uses fiction descriptions. Everyone knows you can't hold or buy a star. The poet says that you can't buy a star for a way to say how great the star is. The poet also says that you can't hold a star. The poets says that as a way to say that a star is huge.

I the poem I choose is "Do You Carrot all for me?" because I like how the poet is making some one say a nice thing but in a wierd way.like when the person says "we will make a swell pear" it's kind of what little kid would write but not the love part.

I chose "Do You Carrot All For Me?" because...

POET'S CRAFT: The poem is very well written in the word choice being a big part of it, the vegetable/fruit word combination is a really good way of expressing your feelings!:) and the punctuation helps the reader understand what is going on.

ORIGINAL THOUGHT: This poem is really funny in the way it uses words like, " weed make a swell pear." I thought that the way the poem just sort of flowed was really nice. This poem is really good. I hope you liked it too.

Mrs. Sikes Mrs. Sikes
Last year I did fake read. It made reading boring, and when I was reading little bits of a page I never was in the reading zone. Also I didn't understand the books, because I wasn't reading every word. Now this year I read every word, I understand the book, and it's not boring anymore. Reading alive is fun when I'm in the zone, and I feel like I'm in the book. At my house I don't like reading, because it's loud, and I can't get in the zone. At school I like reading, because it's quite, I always am in the zone, and I feel like I'm a part of the book.

Mother to Son is about a mom speaking to her son, and telling him that when time gets hard don't stop and cry. Keep on going because life is never going to be easy, and it will get better if you keep on going.
Life Doesn't Frighten Me is about a girl who is not afraid of anything and how she is the new girl in school and it doesn't bother her when boys pull her hair and when girls are mean.
I vote for Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I like how Maya Angelou did the title over and over again, and how she named things that can be scary to some people.
