I like The Falling Star because has some really good rhyming and and I really like how it discibes that it is a butiful thing that nature has to offer.
I vote for If because of the ryming and it has a deep meaning to me about turning the other cheek. I also loved the word choice. I think that it means that you should do the right thing when other are not.
My favorite poem is, The Falling Star, because when I read the poem I can see the night sky and the shooting star.
I vote for The Falling Star because I thought the writer put a lot of detail but it was still short, and I also like how it rhymed a little, but on the poem If- it didn’t rhyme as much I thought and he did a little detail but I like how in The Falling Star the writer did detail but it turned out short.
I chose the poem if because...
POET'S CRAFT:
It had great punctuation, rhyme scheme, and great way of telling the story of the poem. It had different ways to write the story than just plain words discribing a story that isn't a story on a peice of paper.
ORIGINAL THOUGHT:
I think that the poem had a really good way of telling the story. You could have a really good visual picture in your mind when you read it. I love the way that it ended "And-which is more-you'll be a man son!!" that poem really interested me and I could read it a hundred time and it would never, I mean NEVER get old.
I chose If- beacause liked mthe line breaks and ryhme. It's kind of like each paragraph he's growing up.
I vote for the "The Falling Star" because
ORGINAL THOUGHT: it makes me feel like if the star can be free flying around the sky than it makes me think i can bo free too
WRITERS CRAFT: i like how they say its to butiful and valuable that you cant buy it the presence of it is the best you can get out of it
I choose The falling star because I could visualize it in my mind better than i could with If.
I vote for If because of the rhyming and the deep meaning to me about turning the other cheek. I also loved the word choice. I think that it means that you should do the right thing when others are not.
I chose the poem, If~,
I chose it because it had most of the poet’s craft that makes it a really good poem, such as: punctuation (it has good line breaks that help you read it), rhyme scheme (toss, loss etc.)
I could visualize the poem like a voice speaking from the air to a boy who is sitting in his room imagining all the things that he can do. I can also connect (t-t) it kind of reminds me of the bible and God speaking to everyone saying that if you can do these things you will turn out well.
I chose to vote for "If-" because it makes me think of my dad talking to me. I could really connect to what the poet was trying to tell the reader. I also liked how the poet used descriptive words to tell boys how they can become a men.
I chose If~ because it had really good poet’s craft like: rhyming words (you, too and master, disaster. Also, this poem had a lot of good punctuation and line breaks.
I think that because the author put a lot of good poet’s craft it make it a great poem. I connection I have (t-s) is that I sometimes wonder what if this happens or what if that happens. I really liked this poem because I could relate to it.
I chose The Falling Star because of the way the poet was talking about a specific star and explaining what it is like. In each two lines at the end of the line there is a word then the next line rhymes with that one and so-on until the poem is over and I think that is different from some other poems. Even though “The Falling Star” isn’t actually said in the poem it is still a falling star.
I like The Falling Star because it relates to the way feel like when I look up to the sky on a beautiful night and see that shiny star falling from the sky I feel like my wish came true all ready.
I chose the Falling Star because...
POET'S CRAFT: The rhyming made it easier to visualize. For Example: I saw a star slide down the sky, Blinding the north as it went by.
ORIGINAL THOUGHT: When I read the poem it made me think of when I went to Florida and saw my first shooting star, so fast I couldn't stop to wish.
My vote goes to the poem If~ because…
POET’S CRAFT: I think it has great line breaks after each IF sentence. I also think it has good rhyme scheme, and how the rhymes really go together and I know that’s hard because of our song writing unit.
ORINGAL THOUGHT: I really think this poem has a very deep meaning, I think that it really has to with God and the bible, I think the poem is from God’s standpoint. I can also visualize Jesus telling his disciples this poem.
I vote "The Falling Star" because I love how the author has put the story into place. My original thought in this poem is that the poet has included many things that make the poem stand out. There was a lot of poet's craft but my favorite was the word choice.
I chose The Falling Star because...
POET'S CRAFT: the rhyme scheme and the line breaks are really well put together to make the poem move, or flow with the words.
ORIGINAL THOUGHT: When I read the poem it reminds me of when my family used to go outside and watch the stars.
I choose The Falling Star because the rhyme is AA BB CC, like how we learned with writing songs. It was very discriptive of one shooting star and I was able to visualize it.
I choose "Falling Star" because I liked how it said "The Star is falling down the sky. I liked that because it reminded me of when I used to go out on the beach and watch the stars just fall, and it kind of reminded me of fireworks.I liked all of the "descriptive language and SHOW NOT TELL."
I choose Falling Star because...
I think the rhyme scheme is really good because a lot of the lines rhyme . The poem reminded me of my lake house because on clear nights we can see the stars.
I like The Falling Star because…
ORIGANL THOUGHT: I visualize a shooting star streaking across the sky and being very bright and beautiful. I have never seen a shooting star but when I think of a shooting star it (for some weird reason) reminds me of Pocahonis singing The Colors of the Wind.
POETS CRAFT: I like how the poet rhymed the ending words like; sky, by, hold, sold, on and gone. I also like how the poet did show not tell by describing a shooting star but not telling what it was.
I pick Falling Star,
because I like how the poet described the star.
I think that it's a great poem.
These two poems are not alot alike but i can make a connection to both of them but the most connection I have made was to the poem "Who Has Seen The Wind" because my connection was that every day I here the wind and sometimes see it.
Out of the two The Falling Star and Who Can See The Wind. I like Who Can See The Wind because I like how there was a falling star coming down and they made a wish. I once thought I saw a falling star but it was not one. I like how the author described about the falling star and how it was falling. I like how the author said Too Lovely to be bought or sold. I thought it was a cool story and so I liked this one more than Who Can See The Wind.
I choose The Falling Star because...
ORIGANAL THOUGHT: I liked the describing in the poem. She does not use realistic describing but I like the way the writing describe it in an unrealistic way but you can tell what the poet means. I can visualize this so well. I can visualize a shooting star on a summer night.
POET'S CRAFT: The rhyming is very good in this poem. She uses an aa, bb, cc method in her rhymes. She uses words that you can infer what the poet means.
Out of these two poems, I have to choose “Who Can See the Wind” as my favorite poem.
I chose this because of the good description, the rhyming words, and the message the author is saying. I think it’s kind of like God. You can’t see God, but you know when he is there by his mighty power.
The reason why I didn’t choose “The Falling Star” is because it was a little sad because the star was dying and it wasn’t as meaningful to me, but I did like the rhyming and description.
I like the Falling Star because…
POET’S CRAFT= I like how the author rhymed the words and I also like how the author used descriptive language. I liked how in the poem you could visualize the bright falling star going down. I liked how the poem described the falling star so well because I could infer that it is a falling star.
ORIGANAL THOUGHT= When I thought of a falling star, I could remember from a song I heard called little tree. I can just see the girl in her bedroom standing on a balcony.
I chose The Falling Star.
I liked the rhyme and flow.
I like the line "Good only to make wishes on."
I chose this poem because one time I went to Maui and saw a shooting star for the first time.
