Dear Ms.Sikes,

1."The Eagle" is about an eagle trying to survive on a edge but then he falls into the sea.
2." Casey At The Bat" is about Casey and the bat playing baseball and Casey had a lot of pressure on him. And he got struck struck out.
3. I chose "Casey at the Bat" because i like how Casey had a lot of pressure on him but he struck out. Ib can connect to Casey because that also happened to me 2 years ago. Also I like the show not tell that Ernest Lawrence Thayer does.

"The Eagle" is about a eagle on his perch attacking his prey. I have never seen that happen LIVE, but I always have wanted to. "Casey at Bat" is about a guy named Casey who is up to bat at a baseball game and strikes out. It reminds me of me sometimes when I strike out. The winner for me is "Casey at Bat" because it is about baseball and I love baseball. Also I like the way it rhymes.

"The Eagle" is about an eagle that is watching down below him looking for another animal to eat, and when he finds one he quickly goes down to eat.
"Casey at the Bat" is about a boy named Casey who plays baseball, and it's up to him to make the winning home run.
In my opinion I like "Casey at the bat" cause I used to play softball and I know what he is feeling when all the pressure is on him.

!. The "The Eagle" is about an eagle who catches something in his lonely hands. He watches from his mouton home.
2. "Casey at the Bat" is about the boy, Casey, who hits the ball and the umpire says, " Strike!" The audencice screams at the umpire, but Casey makes the game go on. At the third he hit it so far it soared to island, but in the town there was no happiness.

P.S. I would have screamed my head off.

Dear Ms. Sikes,

2."Casey at the Bat" is about Casey and her suporting friends. Casey was really nervous about getting at the bat, but her friends suport her the whole way.
3."Casey at the Bat" is my favorite poem because I can make a connection with Casey because it's my first time to play softball on an Oak Hill team , and I'm going to be really nervous getting up to bat, but I know that my friends on my team will be supporting me the whole way through the season, and I will do the same with them.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
"The Eagle" is mostly about...A boy who might be older or loose and uptight.

"Casey At The Bat" is about...A team that might be playing baseball or softball that has a player up to bat that is very nervous and is thinking thoughts!

My favorite poem out of "The Eagle" and "Casey At Th Bat" is The eagle, because i like the title and the way the words and rhymes worked together!

PS. I am enjoying this poetry madness!!

I think the meaning of " The Eagle" is that an eagle is waiting to dive into the ocean to get a fish to eat.
I think that the meaning of "Casey at the Bat" is that they are in the bottom of the last inning, and the best batter is up to bat. When he lets the first two pitches go and swings but misses on the third, and strikes out and they lose the game.
I think that " The Eagle" wins this one because "Casey at the Bat" is really long and is more of a story than a poem, and ”The Eagle” rhymes better.

“The Eagle” is about an Eagle who is “close to the sun in lonely lands, Ringed with the azure world, he stands” but suddenly, like a crack of thunder he falls, Majestic, though reigns over all.

“Casey at the Bat” begins with describing the rocky terrain on which they will play a game, of sawdust and of strikes, a game which puts a player’s legs to flight; baseball. When someone came up to the bat, there was a deathlike roar, for that someone was Casey, whose talents had shown before. All eyes were upon him, strike one, strike two, strike three, oh no! Maybe somewhere kids are laughing, maybe somewhere children shout, “But there is no joy in Mudville--Mighty Casey has struck out”

I chose “The Eagle” because with all of the phenomenal adjectives, this poem had a very welcoming appearance and made me wish to read it multiple times

The poem, "The Eagle" is about, an eagle flying and catching its food or something, and he hurts himself and he falls!! The poem, "Casey at Bat" is about, a really good baseball player named Casey, and she hasn't really struck out and people think the umpire is calling those things on purpose! In the end though Casey gets struck out! I like the poem "The Eagle" the best because it has really good rhymes all throughout the poem and I liked how it told about what can happen to animals if they are not careful!

Dear Ms. Sikes
The first poem The Eagle is about an eagle in his home in the mountains and then he dives down to catch his prey. The second poem, Casey at the Bat, is about a boy who is up to bat at a baseball game. I like the poem Casey at the Bat because it pulled me in more because I didn’t know what was going to happen next and that made me want to keep on reading.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
I think the meaning of "The Eagle" is a eagle is looking for food, he finds a fish, and he dives to get it.
I think the meaning of "Casey at Bat" is that Casey is too cocky about hitting the ball, and he lets the first two go past him as strikes saying that they are not his style. Then the final pitch comes, and he misses the swing.
I like "Casey at Bat" better than the other because sometimes people get too cocky about something then they fail. I like the message that it is trying to say.
