I like "The New Suit" because It rhyms a lot and It is kind of funny where it is his b-day and He cannot eat any thing because he is wearing dress clothes.

I choose the poem Do you carrot all for me? because I love how it’s a fun and cute poem. The author of this poem did a great job of picking out the word choice. A connection I made with this poem (t-w) is that this poem kind of reminded me of Veggie Tales. Also, I can infer that a vegetable couple is talking to each other.

My vote goes to "Do You Carrot All for Me?" because...

POET'S CRAFT: I love the language in this poem! It has such a unusual way of saying the words, but that is what makes the poem so special and great.

ORIGINALTHOUGHT: I love this poem because of the cool, sweet, "yummy", meaning. How someone (I particularly think of it as a bunny) loves someone and is asking them to be married.

Out of these two poems I would have to chose Do You Carrot All For Me. Because I would connect to that by caring for someone and someone caring for me. The poets craft that I found was this sentence that said "My heart beats for you," and the sentence that says, "We make a swell pear." They used the poem with fruit in it and by fruit i mean, "With your turnip nose, and your radish face."

How to eat a Poem had a good meaning: it doesn't take anything to read a poem.

The poet craft was that it had good punctuation.

Out of these two poems, I have to choose “Do You Carrot All For Me” as my favorite.

I chose this because “Do You Carrot All For Me” is more meaningful to me because it is about a relationship, but “How To Eat A Poem” is just about someone eating a poem and it’s not as realistic as the other poem. Also, I like the creativity both of the poems have, but I like “Do You Carrot All For Me” ‘s creativity better. Lastly I like poems that rhyme a little better, but “ Do You Carrot All For Me” just kind of flows even though it doesn’t rhyme and “How To Eat A Poem” has some rhyming words, but it just doesn’t flow as much to me.

The reason why I didn’t chose “How To Eat A Poem” as my favorite is because it was just kind of pointless, it didn’t have a true meaning, it didn’t flow that well and only had a few rhyming words, and it’s a little too commanding and not relaxing, but I do like the creativity.

I vote for "Do you Carrot all for me" because

ORIGINAL THOUGHT: I like this poem because it is funny in a way. to me it seams like a vegetable talking to another vegetable saying how in love their in with the other vegetable.

WRITERS CRAFT: i think this author is really clever. It would be hard for me to to make vegetables(and fruits) sound like love words. I like that she does that instead of just righting a normal love poem.

I choose "Do You Carrot All For Me" because i like the word choice and the line breaks. My original thought is that "The New Suit" was good but it didn't really have a poem feel to it.

I choose How to Eat a Poem because...
I really liked the rhyme scheme in how to eat a poem and It put more thoughts into my heads because I would never think of eating a poem.

I choose "How to Eat a Poem" because...

It is very funny. I think it is funny because of the way it is written when it says not to be polite and when it says it doesn't have a core and so on. When it is saying that it says it has no core and all the other stuff on the last paragraph it makes you want to say it fast because it indents after two words. There is no rhyming in this poem, but it is still good because of what it is about. This really relates to what I said up above, but the craft on when it makes a list of the stuff a poem has the indenting is a great part of the craft.

I choose "The New Suit" because I like the description and repetition of the general ideas of getting a new suit. A connection I made to "The New Suit" is when I got fitted to rent a tuxedo for one of my good friends wedding because I was one of the best men.

Out of these two poems, I like "Do You Carrot All For Me". I like it because I like how the author uses vegetables to say things. He says "My heart beets for you" and "Weed make a swell pear". I thought that it was interesting.

I liked Do you carrot all for Me? better because...

POET'S CRAFT: the poem has good word choice to make the play-on words funny like,my heart (beets) for you, and (lettuce) marry. the poem's punctuation also makes the words seem like they rhyme.

ORIGINAL THOUGHT: the poem reminded me of when I as little and I watched Veggie Tales. I infered that the characters on the show would probably say something like (weed make a swell pear.):)

I chose the poem "Choosing Shoes" because...
POET'S CRAFT:
"Choosing Shoes" had great word play, word choice, and punctuation. It didn't have much rhyme scheme, metaphor, and it didn't have simile.
ORIGINAL THOUGHT:
"Choosing Shoes reminded me of my mom and dad in my old house because they had really big shoe racks in their closet that was filled with shoes. Even though "Do You Carrot all for Me" was pretty cute, I had more interest in "Choosing Shoes".

I chose Do You Carrot All For Me?

POETS CRAFT: It had a cool tist of words like, Do You Carrot All For Me? But it could have been Do You Care At All For Me?

ORIGINAL THOUGHT: I think it won because it had something in it I never would have thought of, using a twist of words like carrot or care at.

I vote "How to Eat a Poem" because Ilike how the author had the creativity to make this poem. My original thought is that this poem is a weel constructed poem. The poet's craft in this poem is line breaks.
