Poetry Madness: Game 6

Read Game 6 poems. Then answer each question. Remember to explain WHY you chose the winner based on poet's craft (rhyme, line breaks, punctuation, simile/metaphor, word choice, repetition)and your personal connection to the meaning.

Your post needs to include the following:
1. What is the meaning of the first poem? (Summarize in one sentence)

2. What is the meaning of the second poem? (Summarize in one sentence)

3. Based on the criteria, which poem did you choose and WHY?

***I still notice some of us need to correctly capitalize the title of the poems. Also, be sure you give a detailed answer in Part 3.

Dear Ms.Sikes,
I think "The Castle in the Fire" is about a kingdom that is in danger by a dragon and the night saves it.
I think "do you carrot all for me?" is about a person that is in love and can't stop thinking about them.
My favorite poem was "The castle in the fire" because it told a better story.

I think that the meaning of"The Castle in the Fire" is that there is a castle and Dragons guard the entrance and inside there is a Lady and a Knight comes in and saves her from the Dragons.
I think that the meaning of"Do you carrot all for me?" is that there is a person that loves her garden and is describing it as if it were a person.
I think that"Do you carrot all for me?" wins because it uses (play on words) and it sounds really cool and"The Castle in the Fire" didn't make much sense to me.

“The Castle in the Fire” is about a valiant knight who is faced with the challenge of dragons; yet is able to save the poor maiden stuck in “the old enchanted castle in the fire upon the grate” by the end of the poem.

“Do you carrot all for me?” is a poem that uses vegetables as words, for example, “Do you carrot all for me?” instead of, “Do you care at all for me?”

I liked “Do you carrot all for me” because it struck me as originative for a poem; how often do you see that creative pattern?

"Do you carrot all for me?" is about a person who is asking someone if they love them, using vegetables and fruit.

"The Castle in the Fire" is a fantasy about dragons and knights, "'twas a wonderful fight!" , and in the end, as always, the knight gets the princess.

I like "Do you carrot all for me?" because it is a very creative poem that you have to read out loud to understand. I really do like the way this poem works!

The poem, "Do You Carrot all for Me" is about, is about maybe a person who loves fruit a lot and thinks he is a good match with fruit (I'm guessing and I'm pretty sure I'm wrong). The poem, "The Castle in Fire" is about, a princess who is guarded by a dragon, and there is a knight who is going to save her. The castle caught on fire and everyone was really worried. Then out came the princess and the knight. If I had to choose between "Do You Carrot all for Me" and "The Castle in Fire" I would choose, "The Castle in Fire". I like it better because it tells more of a story. I really like all the details it gave. I really liked how it was based off of some of the fairytales we read. That was the biggest connection to me.
