Dear Ms. Sikes,
I liked "The Falling Star" the best because of the word choice. It wasn't just like bat, cat, sat, I was way more unique.

1."The New Suit" I can make a connection to. I t tells about someone pushing someone else to wear a suit, and I have had that feeling before, many times.
2."The Falling Star" is about a thing that you don't get everyday, but you have to do it quick. And I feel rushed sometimes like that, too.
3. My favorite is "The New Suit" because it has mor meaning and I can make more personal connections to it.

I chose "The Falling Star" because of the way it rhymes, the writer's craft, and because of how it is worded. I like the way it rhymes because it is exact rhymes. For example, "sky" and "by" those are exact rhymes. I like the writer's craft because they say like the falling star is a really magical thing. I like the way it is worded because of one sentence in the poem. It says, "Too burning and too hot to hold, too lovely to be bought or sold." I also chose it because of the story and what the words mean. For example, it's about a beautiful star that's falling from the sky.

Dear Ms. Sikes,
"The New Suit" means more to me because I love to get new suits.
I have a connection and it's this I always like to go to the store that my parents get there fancy clothes and I like to look at the suits.
I think the person thought more about "The New Suit" because I has more than "The Falling Star".
Your Student,
Will B.

I chose "The Falling Star" because I like how every 2 lines there is a new rhyme, like sky-by, hold-sold, and on-gone. This is important to me because it is just like a shooting star and how you make wishes on it , and I love shooting stars. As for the other one, it just says about a suit, and "The New Suit" doesn't rhyme.

I like the poem The New Suit best because I can relate to it. I can relate to the poem The New Suit because I HATE having to dress up in nice cloths and not be aloud to be messy and NOT be able to act like a boy. I like how the poet made the last word of every other line rhyme.

"The Falling Star" because it is talking about how something that is beautiful can be taken away quickly. The connection I can make to this poem is, when the school shooting happened I felt sad because those kids had so much more of their life ahead of them, like the star did. The poet's craft I like most is the rhyming because I love rhyming words.

I like "The Falling Star" the most because I can really understand what it's trying to get to the reader. I also like space and all the cosmos. I think it is trying to tell the reader that the author thinks life goes by to fast.

Dear Ms.Sikes,

I like “The New Suit” the best. I have had a birthday party of my own in kindergarten. I wore fancy cloths and I was afraid I was going to spill.

"The Falling Star means more to me than "The New Suit" because it says a nice message,"You don't see a falling star in life everyday, so enjoy things while you have them." In life lots of people (including me) don't realise what they have until it's gone and you won't ever see it again. I like how "The Falling Star" rhymes. It says sky and by, hold and sold, on and gone.

I like “ The New Suit” because I always get my shirt dirty and I like wearing T-shirts and things like that and some times wearing fancy cloths. Its meaning is important to me because it tells me not to wear fancy cloths to birthday parties. It also has lots of punctuation and good rhymes.

Dear Ms.Sikes,
The poem I picked is "The New Suit". I picked it because I like how the poem has many details, and they flow with the rest of the poem. The connection I made with the poem is that when my brother had senior prom, so we had to go get him a suit and it took a while.

If I had to choose between "The Falling Star" and
"The New Suit" I would have to choose "The Falling Star".
I code this poem because I can relate to it better
then I can "The New Suit". I can relate to "The Falling
Star" because it is saying, "Make a wish on a star
and never stop believing your dreams can't come true."
I always make a wish on a shining star and believe I
will see a shooting star before I pass away! I have
not givin up on that dream and I never will!!! That is why
I chose the poem, "The Falling Star".

Dear Ms. Sikes,

I choose "The Falling Star" because I like how it descibes the star. I also like how it says "Blinding the north as it went by", as if it actually took away their eyesight. I also choose it because of the word choice.

Dear Ms.Sikes,
The poem I liked best was "Falling Star" how it describes how small this world is. It might only talk about a shooting star, but when you push your thinking it is actually about how small the world is compared to so many other planets and universes.

"The Falling Star" is about a shooting star that is flying through the sky. "The New Suit" is about a guy who gets a new suit for his birthday. The winner is "The New Suit' because I like the feel of the poem.
