Poetry Madness: Game 7

Read Game 7 poems. Then answer each question. Remember to explain WHY you chose the winner based on poet's craft (rhyme, line breaks, punctuation, simile/metaphor, word choice, repetition)and your personal connection to the meaning.

Your post needs to include the following:
1. What is the meaning of the first poem? (Summarize in one sentence)

2. What is the meaning of the second poem? (Summarize in one sentence)

3. Based on the criteria, which poem did you choose and WHY?

***I still notice some of us need to correctly capitalize the title of the poems. However, many of us responded with detail on Part 3. Keep up the good work!

The poem, "Some One" is about, a girl who lives in a small house near a forest. All these animals and insects are so beautiful to her in the night sky, and if it hadn't been for that beetle she would've never seen them. The poem, "Life doesn't Frighten Me" is about, a girl who was frightened by life and then (I think) she passed away. When she was up in heaven she saw that life didn't need to frighten her. I choose the poem, "Life doesn't Frighten Me" because I am a worryer and I don't want life to frighten me. My mom told me that you can't go through life worrying about the little things.

"Life Doesn't Frighten Me" is a poem about a girl making a statement about how life does't frighten her. I like this poem because it makes lots of sense. I have to infer that she might be talking about how God is with her so she's not frightened.

"Some One" is about a random person who came knocking on someone's door. I think the guy was ding-dong ditching.

My favorite was "Life doesn't frighten me because it is a very vivid description of things that could scare people all around the world. This poem really touches me, because I feel God's presence when I read it. I remember he's there for me. That's what I think this poem is about!
